With the Raiders’ first preseason game five days away, they have released their fits unofficial depth chart. Here is what it looks like:
— Levi Damien (@LeviDamien) August 9, 2023
Next up behind Jimmy Garoppolo is veteran backup Brian Hoyer.
With Josh Jacobs still not signed and thus not in camp, it’s Zamir White leading out the running backs followed by Ameer Abdullah, then Brandon Bolden.
Alex Bars is in a battle to retain his starting right guard job. Listed directly behind him is Greg Van Roten with undrafted rookie McClendon Curtis behind him. Netane Muti is listed as the backup at the other guard spot, but most likely he is competing for that right guard spot as well.
Despite Thayer Munford seeing some time of late at right tackle, Jermaine Eluemunor is still listed as the starter.
Jerry Tillery is listed as first team alongside Bilal Nichols. This position has not been entirely settled, so it’s interesting to see Tillery out front here. We’ll see if he can stay there. Plenty of guys will be looking to earn their way into the rotation.
Though, in most cases the Raiders will line up in nickel, which would mean three cornerbacks and two linebackers, the Raiders list three linebackers and two cornerbacks. Joining expected starters Robert Spillane and Divine Deablo on the first team is Luke Masterson.
Nate Hobbs is listed as a starter, though he is expected to man the slot almost exclusively. This means there will be another starter on the outside opposite Marcus Peters. Next up on the depth chart are Brandon Facyson and rookie Jakorian Bennett.
DeAndre Carter is listed as the primary kick returner and punt returner. Ameer Abdullah is next up at kick returner and Hunter Renfrow at punt returner.
Keep in mind, there is a reason this depth chart is called “unofficial”. Because it’s not put together by the coaching staff, but rather the Media Relations staff. That doesn’t render it meaningless as they have a firsthand look at how the Raiders are lining up their players in camp.
