Park Expo Las Vegas, by PMMI, the Association for Packaging and Processing Technologies, came to Las Vegas last week and occupied the North, Central and South Halls of the Las Vegas Convention Center. The trade show welcomed some 2300 exhibitors and 32,000 guests making it the largest packaging and processing technologies trade show in the. world.

Lots of verbs are used in describing the the kinds of equipment featured at the convention center. The exhibits included equipment for filling, capping, closing, bagging, pouching, wrapping, conveying, feeding, handling, coding, labeling, printing. inspecting, testing, cartoning, case packing, material handling, warehousing, and much more.

Pack Expo Las Vegas also featured many educational sessions with subjects such as “Injecting Innovation into Sustainable Packaging”, “Improving Efficiency in Programming Industrial Automation” and “The Packaging Policy Precipice — Challenges or Opportunities”.

However, for this reporter, walking part of the trade show was most exciting. I have attended Pack Expo in the past past and this year got a whole different look while still concentrating my two-hour visit on the second floor of the South Hall.
