In a move that seems all too familiar in today’s political climate, tens of thousands of Las Vegas hospitality workers are on the brink of striking. But how exactly do people who have visas that aren’t legally allowed to be here without these jobs strike to begin with? On top of that, many of these workers aren’t even legally in the country.
Thousands of people who were given work visas, & many who are actually illegal, are getting ready to strike as Culinary Union attempts to shut down Las Vegas!!
Make now mistake, it is not a coincidence that strikes are happening all over country, it’s another Democrat Shut down! pic.twitter.com/HcaChFnLMM

The Culinary Union is pulling the strings, leading some to wonder: is this about the workers, or is there a more sinister motive at play?
Recent democrat-led events suggest a potential nationwide agenda. Locally, the Las Vegas teacher’s ‘sickouts’ last week mirror this move by the Culinary Union. The timing couldn’t be more conspicuous. And on a national level, on the same day of the vote here in Las Vegas, President Joe Biden traveled to Michigan to stand on the picket lines with United Auto Workers strikers. Are these isolated events, or are they part of a larger orchestrated effort by the Democrats to disrupt our economy?

For over thirty years, the Culinary Workers Union has held our city hostage with their threats. And now, it seems they are getting ready to finally kill off our city as they push 53,000 workers from various hospitality jobs—ranging from housekeepers to bartenders— to strike. These people play pivotal roles in the smooth functioning of Las Vegas’ iconic hotel and casino industry.
Their demands? Better pay, improved benefits, and more favorable working conditions – but didn’t they already get that when they got their work visas to escape the countries they were fleeing? Now we usually don’t side with MGM Resorts International or Caesars Entertainment. Still, a potential strike could cripple more than three dozen casinos and hotels, the very foundation of Las Vegas’ economy.
The casinos that will be affected due to the potential strike action encompass several key players on the Las Vegas Strip, Downtown Las Vegas, and other locations across the city. The affected casinos and resorts are as follows:
- MGM Resorts International, which includes:
- Aria
- Bellagio
- Excalibur
- Luxor
- Mandalay Bay
- MGM Grand
- New York-New York
