A GoFundMe has been set up to help the mother of a 5-year-old boy who was killed when he was hit by a van while he was being dropped off for school in North Las Vegas on Friday.

An email statement Sunday from GoFundMe spokesperson Nathalie Granda said the GoFundMe has been created to help Jasmyn Wolfe, the mother of the 5-year-old boy, who identified in the GoFundMe as KK Jordan Wolfe.

“The fundraiser states the 5-year-old’s mother, Jasmyn Wolfe, dropped off her son at Somerset Academy on Friday. Shortly after getting out of the car, Wolfe was hit by a work van. According to the fundraiser, the driver of the van attempted to leave, but was stopped by nearby good samaritans,” the statement from GoFundMe’s Granda said.

The GoFundMe had so far raised over $14,000 by Sunday morning.

“Jasmyn was in no way financially prepared to lay her precious boy to rest or to endure the financial and emotional burdens of the coming weeks by herself,” reads the GoFundMe, which lists Tracy Coleman as the organizer.

Guillermo Cchochi Senobua, 41, the alleged driver of the van, was arrested by North Las Vegas police on suspicion of involuntary manslaughter and not giving his full attention to driving in connection with the 7:50 a.m. crash, North Las Vegas police said.
