Crime Reports at UNLV: Oct. 8–13

UNLV is located in an area with one of the highest crime rates in the Las Vegas Valley, the South Central Area, according to data from the Metropolitan Police Department. 

This week there was a drop in reported crimes on campus compared to last week. As of Saturday, no crimes were reported on Oct. 22. 

Here are the crimes that took place last week: 

Friday, Oct. 14 – 3:39 p.m. : There was burglary at the Thomas & Mack Center. 

Saturday, Oct. 15 –  8:23 p.m. : A trespass warning was given to someone who wasn’t associated with UNLV and was in possession of unlawful drugs. 

Sunday, Oct. 16 – 2:57 p.m. : A student’s vehicle was damaged at the Y lot, next to the UNLV Foundation building on Cottage Grove Avenue and Maryland Parkway.    

7:41 p.m. : UNLV property was damaged near Maryland Parkway, police were able to make contact with a student when they arrived.  

10:07 p.m. : There was an assault with a deadly weapon at the Tropicana Parking garage involving an individual with unknown association to UNLV.  

Monday, Oct. 17  – 6:43 a.m. : A UNLV student was involved with a hit and run while driving under the influence on Maryland Parkway. 

7:31 a.m. : By the Lied Athletic Complex, someone that is not a staff member or student was found selling and possessing drugs.

3:33 p.m. : At the Hospitality Hall police responded to the theft of students property.  

5:31 p.m. : Someone broke into a student’s vehicle that was parked in the recently expanded Tropicana Parking Garage. 

Tuesday, Oct. 18 – 12:55 p.m. : A UNLV staff member had their personal property stolen at Lot N, a parking lot behind the Lied Library. 

Wednesday, Oct. 19 – 3:04 p.m. : Another staff member had their personal property stolen at the FDH building.

Thursday, Oct. 20 – 5:17 p.m. : Police issued trespassing at The Degree Apartment Complex with someone who was not affiliated with UNLV. 
Friday, Oct. 21 – 8:21 a.m. : The Alta Ham Fine Arts building was damaged and almost burglarized.
